XXI International Agricultural Exhibition "Agropromotion 2011"

Under the honorary patronage of the Marshal of the Małopolskie Voivodeship Marek Sowa and the Governor of the Małopolskie Voivodeship Stanisław Kracik, the XXI International Agricultural Exhibition “Agropromotion 2011” took place between 3 and 4 September 2011 in Nawojowa.

The organizer of the event was the Małopolska Agricultural Advisory Centre in Karniowice with partners: the Polish Federation of Cattle Breeders and Dairy Farmers, the Regional Association of Sheep and Goat Breeders, the Agricultural School Complex Centre for Practical Education named after W. Witos in Nawojowa, the Poviat Starosty in Nowy Sącz, and the Małopolska Agricultural Centre.

Agropromotion is the biggest agricultural exhibition in the region. The exposition provides a unique opportunity to present modern technical solutions in the field of agricultural production, ecology, protection of environment, food processing, gardening, seed production, rural building and livestock buildings, crop and fertilizer protection products, feeds, feed additives, as well as cultural heritage and folklore of Małopolska countryside, and organically produced food.

Giving honours and awards was an important event during the exhibition. By the decision of the President of Republic of Poland, the employees of the Małopolska Agricultural Advisory Centre were awarded with the Silver Cross of Merit and Gold Medal for long-standing service.

Awards were also given to the best agricultural companies, farmers and agritourism farms.

An integral part of the event was the II Regional Exhibition of Dairy Cattle and Sheep, the aim of which was:

    • to present the achievements of breeders of dairy cattle and sheep from the Małopolska region to the largest possible audience during the exhibition
    • to present dairy cattle and sheep breeds included in the “Protection of genetic resources” programme
    • to promote the idea of dairy cattle and sheep breeding in mountain and submontane regions
    • to promote local breeds of cattle and sheep
    • to promote milk and milk products
    • to have the exhibited animals assessed by the Commissions for Evaluation of Animals and to appoint champions and vice-champions in different breeds and categories.

      During the Agropromotion, the visitors could benefit from counseling in the field of animal production, plant production and economics of production.

      At the well-attended stall of the National Research Institute of Animal Production, those interested could become acquainted with the offer of our institution, the information on native breeds, and the research underway and its results. Thanks to good weather conditions, the exhibition enjoyed a great attendance success.
