The Polagra-Premiery Fair 2016

Between 21 and 24 January 2016, the Polagra-Premiery International Trade Fair of Agricultural Mechanization 2016 was held in Poznań. Krzysztof Jurgiel, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development assumed honorary patronage over the event.

This year’s exhibition of the Polagra-Premiery Fair occupied more than 56,000 sq m. In such a sizeable space more than 380 companies presented their offer to forty six thousand visitors. During the fair one could see the machines, excellent in terms of quality and functionality, agricultural equipment and tools properly adjusted to the needs of farm owners, which will definitely improve the comfort and safety of everyday work in the field. Among the exhibitors were producers, distributors of fertilizers, seeds and plant protection products. Feeds, feed additives, equipment of agricultural machines service, animal husbandry and veterinary equipment completed the sizeable exhibition. One could also meet the representatives of trade press, unions and associations.

The National Research Institute of Animal Production presented a rich and varied exhibition offer at the stall put up by the Department of Research Commercialization and Practice Cooperation, which was located in Pavilion 3A. Such prestigious fair as the Polagra-Premiery was an excellent occasion to disseminate the achievements of the Institute via direct contact with the visitors – the representatives of governmental administration, trade associations, farmers, agricultural advisors, lecturers and agricultural university students.

Moreover, as part of the accompanying events, the Institute organized two speeches on the first day of the fair:

  • The lecture of Prof. Eng. Karol Węglarzy, Ph.D. from the Institute’s Grodziec Śląski Experimental Station named after Professor Mieczysław Czaja on the energy-saving technologies in animal production applied in Grodziec Śląski Experimental Station;
  • The lecture of Marian Kamyczek, Ph.D. from the Institute’s Pawłowice Experimental Station on: “Energy-saving technologies in production and breeding of dairy cattle using the example of the Experimental Station in Pawłowice”.

In addition, during the four days of the fair the visitors could take part in such events as: the conference “Innovation in cattle rearing and breeding”, the 11th Forum of Rapeseed and Protein Plants Producers on biofuel in Poland, the Agricultural Producers Forum, the discussion panel “Agricultural derogation – a new perspective for 2016, or how to save on payments?”, a seminar concerning sugar production and beetroot cultivation in Poland, a series of lectures on the trailers and tractors sector in Poland and Europe by Martin & Jacob, or the 12th Conference “Bioenergy in Agriculture”.
