Students from Bogdańczowice in the National Research Institute of Animal Production

As part of the realization of the agreement, which assumes the cooperation between the National Research Institute of Animal Production and agricultural schools, the Institute was visited by a group of students from the Agricultural Training Centre named after Priest Jan Dzierżoń in Bogdańczowice on 11 May 2016.

During the visit, the students became acquainted in a cross-cutting manner with the range of work conducted in the Institute. Piotr Gogol, Ph.D. discussed the issue of research conducted in the Department of Animal Reproduction Biotechnology, Eng. Katarzyna Ropka – Molik, Ph.D. presented the area of research work carried out in the laboratories of the Department of Genomics and Animal Molecular Biology. On the farm in Aleksandrowice, Dorota Kowalska, Ph.D. acquainted the guests with the issues of rabbit breeding, Prof. Józefa Krawczyk, Ph.D. discussed the specificity of poultry native breeds, whereas Eng. Jacek Sikora, Ph.D. dealt with the subject of sheep breeding.

During the visit in Kobylany, the students could get to know in detail the subject matter of running a large homestead focused on dairy cattle breeding. Eng. Andrzej Jurkiewicz, Ph.D. presented particular stages of production, means of work organization, procedures of herd supervision.

The visit was organized by the Department of Research Commercialization and Practice Cooperation.
