Visit of Students from Angers (France) to the National Research Institute of Animal Production

On 29 June 2016, the Institute was visited by a group of 70 students of agricultural fields from Université d'Angers.

The guests were welcomed by Prof. Robert Eckert, Ph.D., Deputy Director for Scientific Issues in the Conference Room of the Main Building. He presented a short history and achievements of the Institute over almost seventy years. Eng. Magdalena Szyndler-Nędza, Ph.D. discussed the statutory activities and the field of research conducted in the Department of Animal Genetics and Breeding. The students had the chance to visit the laboratories of the Department of Genomics and Animal Molecular Biology and the Department of Animal Reproduction Biotechnology, where Eng. Artur Gurgul, Ph.D. and Eng. Michał Bochenek, Ph.D. talked about the research realized in the Institute. The next stage was visiting the sheep farm in Aleksandrowice where Eng. Jacek Sikora, Ph.D. spoke about native breeds of these animals. The last item on the agenda was visiting dairy cattle farm in Kobylany, which belongs to the Institute. Eng. Andrzej Jurkiewicz, Ph.D., the President of the Rudawa Experimental Station acquainted the guests with the work conducted on the farm.
