11th Follow-up Conference for Former Grant Holders of the Hanns-Seidel Foundation from Bulgaria, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Hungary

The 11th Conference for Former Grant Holders of the Hanns-Seidel Foundation from Bulgaria, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Hungary entitled The Biodiversity of Farm Animals – Practical Use – Present and Future was held between 9 and 12 June 2016 in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

From the side of the Hanns-Seidel Foundation, Professor honoris causa Hans-Peter Niedermeier and Michael Czepalla, Ph.D. officially welcomed the guests and opened the conference, whereas from the side of the hosts there were: Prof. Flaviu Calin Rus, Ph.D., Vice-Rector of the Babes-Bolyai University and Prof. Delia Cristina Balaban, Ph.D.

During the sessions in which more than 40 people participated (including 8 people from the National Research Institute of Animal Production), representing various scientific and self-governmental institutions, a total of 6 papers were delivered. They concerned among others broadly understood agricultural research, its practical use and predicted solutions for the future in the context of conducted agricultural policy.

During the stay at the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine in Cluj, the participants of the conference had the occasion to become acquainted with its activity and the range of conducted work. Moreover, active participation will contribute to the exchange of experience in the field of broadly understood animal breeding, tightening already existing international contacts and  making new ones.
