Grażyna Ptak, Ph.D. in the Board of the National Science Congress

The National Science Congress (NSC) will be held in Kraków in September 2017. During the event, the Minister of Science will present the proposals for reform in the new higher education act. The document will regulate the area of higher education from the bottom up. The Minister entrusted drawing up the proposals for reform to a team of 52 scholars appointed to the Board of the National Science Congress.

As Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Science and Higher Education Jarosław Gowin stated, “…in the whole complex task of modernizing Polish science and Polish universities, the Board will indeed be the most important opinion-forming body”.

Among the scientists appointed by the minister there are representatives of the humanities, social, exact, medical and technical sciences. Prof. Jarosław Górniak from the Jagiellonian University in Kraków, the founder of the Centre for Evaluation and Analysis of Public Policies of the Jagiellonian University became the President of the NSC Board. Grażyna Ptak, Ph.D., Prof. of the National Research Institute of Animal Production also accepted the invitation to join the team debating on the future of Polish science.

The Program Board will meet every month during program conferences organized in various cities, at which key issues concerning Polish higher education will be addressed.
