17th Farewell to Holidays in Rudawka Rymanowska

Between 25 and 27 August 2017, the 17th Farewell to Holidays in Rudawka Rymanowska was held, under the patronage of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Marshal of Subcarpathian Voivodeship and Subcarpathian Voivode.

As every year, the main events of the show were as follows: the National Exhibition of Simmental Cattle, the Regional Championship of Hucul Pony and, this year more unimposing, the Exhibition of Native Breeds. The accompanying elements were a Conference on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the cooperation of the Małopolska Biotechnology Centre and BVN – “The Future of Simmental Cattle in Poland and Germany” and the conference entitled “Organic Beef as a Chance for Development”.

“Hucul path”, the competition of show jumping and horse-drawn carts was held as part of the Hucul Pony Championship. The National Research Institute of Animal Production distinguished the nicest-looking mares and a stallion with its awards. The competition of young breeders was a part of the National Exhibition of Simmental Cattle. The show of vintage as well as contemporary agricultural machines and the performances of music bands were an additional magnet attracting crowds of viewers and exhibitors.

The National Research Institute of Animal Production was present as a co-organizer at the Farewell to Holidays, presenting its scientific and publishing offer.

The stall was financed by the National Centre for Research and Development within the framework of the strategic R&D programme “Environment, agriculture and forestry” – BIOSTRATEG, project “The uses and the conservation of farm animal genetic resources under sustainable development”, agreement number: BIOSTRATEG/297267/14/NCBR/2016.
