The Polagra-Premiery 2018 in Poznań

Between 18 and 21 January 2018, the Polagra-Premiery International Agricultural Fair was held in Poznań. The event takes place every two years and the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Krzysztof Jurgiel took honorary patronage over this year’s edition.

350 exhibitors participated in the fair. On more than 50 000 sq. m. they presented their offers directed to broadly understood agricultural sector, among others to farm owners. 27 products were distinguished with Gold Medal.

In the exhibition halls one could see mainly agricultural machines and devices used for transport, soil cultivation, fertilization, dampening, sowing, planting, plant protection and maintenance, harvest of agricultural products. Among the exhibitors there were companies producing spare parts, agricultural tools, plant protection products, seed material, fertilizers, furnishings for animal houses, zootechnical and veterinary equipment. The representatives of institutions associated with agriculture were present too. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the National Support Centre for Agriculture, the Agency for Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture, Agricultural Advisory Centre and scientific centres including the National Research Institute of Animal Production had their stalls.

Within the accompanying events, conferences and debates were held among others concerning bioenergy, rape cultivation, business consultancy for farmers.

On 20 January, the representatives of the National Research Institute of Animal Production presented a series of lectures concerning animal production:

  • Modern dairy cattle breeding management systems - Piotr Wójcik, Ph.D., Prof. of NRIAP
  • New methods for evaluation of breeding and productive value of beef cattle - Eng. Zenon Choroszy, Ph.D.
  • High quality egg and meat production - Eng. Ewa Sosnówka-Czajka, Ph.D.
  • Scientific and practical aspects of breeding domestic breeds of pigs - Eng. Magdalena Szyndler-Nędza, Ph.D.
